Comprehensive Security Studies Group

Welcome to the Comprehensive Security Studies Group (CSSG) homepage. The CSSG has a mandate to deal with the whole of the security paradigm, from chaos to comprehensive and sustained security. It is now widely accepted that true security is attainable only through the effective talents and skills of a variety of military and civilian disciplines. Once security is attained, it must be sustained or else the effort would have been for naught.
The CSSG has a strong Royal Roads University and wider community base of support. Its activities include exchanges of information, conferences, publications and fostering of interest among the general and interested public.
While the CSSG will initially focus on the Asia-Pacific region, endeavours will be matched to declared interests among those who wish to explore certain topics related to our mandate.
Our inaugural conference, Asia Pacific Security: Issues for Canada, was held on April 7, 2011, here at the university. This conference was a resounding success filled with stimulating dialogue among panel members and delegates throughout the day and early evening. Well over 100 people contributed on a variety of topics related to security and of deep interest to a diversity of Canadians. We will be sharing the results of the roundtable discussion in the near future, so be sure to check back for this and other future events and information.

For those of you who joined in the discussions on April 7, thank you.
